Bettr News is a quiet news reader for iPhone, iPad and Android. Add the sites you already read, sort them into sections, and read the article instead of the page around it. It doesn't publish news itself: every article is shown with the name of the site that published it, and opens the original page in one tap.
Need help, found a bug, or want to suggest something?
Email kobus@marneweck.com.
Including your iOS or Android version and the site you were reading makes problems much faster to track down.
Tap the gear, then +, and paste the site's address — you don't need to find its feed yourself. Bettr News looks for one and sets it up. If a site publishes no feed at all, it reads the page directly and builds a list from that instead.
Yes. Paste the section's address, such as supersport.com/rugby, and you'll get
that section rather than the whole site.
Pull down on the list to refresh. If it's still empty, the site may publish no feed and no article links that can be read automatically — send the address and it can be looked at.
Your list of sites lives in your own iCloud Drive, under Apps/BettrNews. Both
devices need to be signed in to the same iCloud account with iCloud Drive turned on. Changes
can take a moment to travel. Light or dark appearance is deliberately not synced —
it's set per device, so each can differ.
Older articles are dropped as new ones arrive, so the list stays quick. Anything you want to keep is best opened in Safari and saved there.
Headlines and summaries already fetched stay readable without a connection. Fetching new articles, images, and full article text needs one.
