Bettr News

Privacy policy

Bettr News does not collect any data about you. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party software of any kind inside the app. Nothing you read is reported to anyone.

This policy was last updated on 9 October 2026 and applies to Bettr News on iPhone, iPad and Android.

What the app stores, and where

On iPhone and iPad, your list of sites is saved in your own iCloud Drive, in a plain readable file under Apps/BettrNews. It is your file: you can open it, back it up, edit it or delete it. It syncs between your devices through your personal iCloud account, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one. It is never sent anywhere else, and the developer cannot see it.

On Android, your list of sites is stored only on the device. It does not sync, and it is included in your device's own Android backup only if you have that switched on, which is governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one.

Articles, their summaries and images are cached on your device so the app is quick and works without a signal. That cache never leaves your device, and deleting the app removes it.

Your light/dark appearance choice is stored on the device only.

What the app connects to

Bettr News makes network requests to exactly two kinds of place:

There is no server belonging to Bettr News. No request is made to the developer, and there is nowhere for your reading to be logged.

Sites you visit

When you open an article's original page, it opens in Safari inside the app on iPhone and iPad, or in your browser on Android. From that point you are on the publisher's website, and their own privacy practices apply — they may set cookies or collect data exactly as they would in any browser. Bettr News has no control over that and does not observe it.

Fetching a publisher's feed or article necessarily reveals your device's IP address to that publisher, the same as visiting their site directly. That is between you and them.

Children

Bettr News collects nothing from anyone, children included. It can display any site you add and can open any web page, so it carries an adult age rating on both stores and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change would be a clarification rather than a new use of your data.
